Watercolor Calavera's

Friday October 11th, 4:30-7:30

$50 Per Artist, $40 for Current Weekly Lesson Students

Join us as we learn about, honor, and celebrate the traditions, culture, and art of the Mexican holiday, el Día de los Muertos, ‘the Day of the Dead.’  Although the holiday coincides with Halloween, the two are not related.  Día de los Muertos is a happy celebration, not a spooky, scary, or gory event.  Students will learn watercolor and drawing techniques to create their own unique calavera compositions.  Calavera’s are decorative skulls often made of sugar or clay and are common symbols of the celebration.  Students will enjoy cider, pizza, and treats as they paint the night away.

Join us for this mysterious and mystical mixed media workshop where young artists will learn how to create and bind their own spell books.  Inside their books they will paint, draw, collage, and concoct their own bewitching spells.  Students will go home with a completely original hand bound spell book that can be used as a journal, sketchbook, or for performing the perfect enchantments for their every day witch and wizarding needs.  Cider and treats provided.
