June Camps

Drawing: Figures & Faces (Full!)

Take your drawing expertise to the next level!  Students will learn tips and tricks to make their drawings more realistic and lifelike.  We will experiment with various mediums such as graphite, chalk, markers, and pastels as we enhance our blending and shading abilities.  If you love to draw and want to improve your skills you will not want to miss out on this camp.

Sewing: 101

In this intro to sewing camp we will explore various sewing techniques that allow us to make useful and wearable creations.  Whether you have never used a sewing machine, or are already sewing up a storm, you will love this fun week of camp!  Students will learn to cut out and follow a pattern and become familiar with using a sewing machine.  By the end of the week, students will go home with a number of projects to show off their newly acquired skills, and the know-how to continue developing their love of sewing!

*If you have previously taken fashion camp you are welcome to join us for Sewing: 101 to advance your sewing skills even further.

Mixed Media

In this advanced art camp we will explore the use of multiple mediums used in tandem on a single piece of artwork.  Young artists will be challenged to stretch their creativity and ingenuity to make pieces that fit their own artistic style while pushing the boundaries of their artistic skills levels.  We will experiment with photography, acrylic paint, oil paint, watercolor, collage techniques, and much more.  This messy, fun, and exciting art camp will push your work as far as your imagination will take you!

July Camps

Drawing: Animals & Botanicals (Only Two Spots Left!)

In this week of art camp, students will develop drawing skills that they will be sure to use well beyond this summer. We will learn blending and shading techniques in addition to working on proportion and composition. Learn tips and tricks for drawing more realistically, while also pushing your creativity to give your work your unique style. We will experiment with various mediums such as graphite, chalk, markers, and pastels. Students will go home with several pieces of finished work based on animals, insects, plants, and other natural subject matter.

Watercolor Techniques

Join us for a fun week of painting and experimentation as we learn all about the magic of watercolor!  Young artists will have the opportunity to use a variety of watercolor paints, mediums, brushes, and types of paper while creating several pieces of original artwork.  Students are sure to use the techniques they learn well beyond this summer.   If you love to paint you will not want to miss out on this camp!

Spell Bound: Book Binding

Join us for this mysterious and mystical mixed media camp where young artists will learn how to create and bind their own spell books.  Inside their books they will paint, draw, collage, and concoct their own bewitching spells.  Students will go home with a completely original hand bound spell book that can be used as a journal, sketchbook, memory book, or for performing the perfect enchantments for their every day witch and wizarding needs.

High School Art Club

Join us for weekly open studio sessions.  Bring what you’ve been working on at home, start new projects, doodle, be yourself, mingle with other art kids.

Thursday Evenings Beginning in June.

$15 Per Artist Per Week

Space is limited each week (8-10 kids).  Please sign up ahead of time so I know how many kids to expect.  Thank you!

Photography Club

Teens interested in becoming better photographers are welcome to join us for this summer’s photography club!  We will be learning photography tips and tricks, meeting professional photographers, and getting out and about to practice our skills.  Meetings will be Thursday mornings in June and July.  We will be meeting at the studio or at an excursion location: Henry Doorly Zoo, Mulhall’s, Lauritzen Gardens, etc.  Excursion schedule coming soon!  Students will need to have their own rides to and from each location in addition to the cost of admission if need be.

*You do not need to have a camera to participate; you may use your phone.  If you do have your own digital SLR camera, bring it along.  The more practice you get with it the better!

Cost: $30 Club dues for the summer.
