Welcome to Two Keys!

Hello!

I’m Sarah and I am the owner and main instructor at Two Keys Creative Studios. Creativity, art, and most importantly, teaching young artists are my passions in life. I am lucky enough to have also made them my career. Art education has been my life for 17 years. Ten of which were spent in the public school setting teaching art to hundreds of Kindergarten-12th grade students. Some of whom, I’m honored to say, are still my students today. I began teaching private lessons on the side and quickly realized that working with small groups gave both myself, and my students, the creative freedom we had all been looking for. In 2016 I took the plunge into making my studio a full-time venture and haven’t looked back since.

Sarah graduated with a double major in Studio Art and K-12 Art Education from Hastings College in 2006. She earned a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2009 from Doane College. Sarah is continuously learning new artistic techniques, staying up to date on new trends and technologies, attends art education conferences, and has taken further art education master’s courses since earning her degrees.

Two Keys Creative Studios, a Family Affair.

After all, ‘Two Keys’ is a play on our last name, Kuester (Key-Stir). When my husband, Josh, and I began this venture, it was just the two of us. Hence, ‘Two Keys.’ Josh is also a talented artist and builder. He co-teaches all of our classes and is our main private lesson instructor.

Since that first year in business, we have added a few more to our key chain: Nova, our shining star, turns five in December and is as bright and creative as ever. Our fourth key, Kylo Ray, turns three in January. He is busy exploring everything he can get his hands on in the studio! We will be adding our fifth key, a baby boy, due in late December. Theodore, the art cat (aka, ‘The Boss’) visits from time to time as well and has become our studio mascot with dozens of art pieces modeled after him.
